Junior & Middle School

Introduction to Junior and Middle School

At Islamic Shakhsiyah Foundation’s Junior and Middle Schools, we are dedicated to continuing the educational journey with our students as they transition from their formative years into their junior years at the age of 7 and into their middle years until the age of 14. We understand that from a traditional Islamic educational perspective,  this phase of education is pivotal in nurturing strong shakhsiyah through embedding discipline and adab through good habits and routines. We are committed to working with parents to lay strong ethical and spiritual foundations.

Mission

At Shakhsiyah Schools, our mission is to foster a generation of confident, compassionate, and intellectually curious individuals who understand their purpose in this world and their responsibilities towards Allah (SWT). Through our transformative educational experience our students  thrive in an Islamic infused and thematic based educational model which is centred towards developing their Shakhsiyah.

Ethos

At Shakhsiyah Schools we build unique personal relationships with children in our care,  orienting them towards Allah (SWT), nurturing them towards reaching  their full potential and  supporting them on a journey to discover  their unique purpose in the Dunya.

To effectively prepare for this journey, our teachers begin by:

   – introspectively assessing their own shakhsiyah

   – reflecting on their educational approaches as murabbi, mu’allim and mu’addib,

   – considering the individual needs, backgrounds, and aspirations of each child and their family

Drawing on the principles of Shakhsiyah Education, we ensure that our indoor and outdoor environments  are carefully designed to foster the holistic development of young children,  building their shakhsiyah Islamiyah (Islamic character and personality).

To do this, we develop their:

  1. love and understanding of their dīn
  2. cognitive capabilities and critical thinking
  3. self-awareness and agency, emotional and social skills
  4. spirituality
  5. language and literacy skills
  6. mathematical and computing skills
  7. ability to make connections between the different learning areas
  8. understanding of the physical world and societies
  9. scientific, geographical and historical inquiry skills
  10. creative self-expression
  11. physical growth and development
